I competed in the District 6 Jazz Combo Competition and we got a 2. I however, recieved ones across the board and got a Bass Solo Award. We're going to be competing at the State competition next friday (14th) at USM if anyone cares to watch. :-)
sorry about that. i got mega busy and never got on here. it went well, we didn't place, but good time nonetheless. 2 judges liked me but another judge said the bass was too heavy (pfft, what an idiot). but it's all good. there were some killer jazz combos there performing and it was an honour to be playing with them. :-)
In other news... Hey, you know what's going on? Music! You know when its going on? All the time!
When's the last time anyone went to a LIVE SHOW? I mean, I know we're on a website for a band that does LIVE SHOWS and that many people who frequent this site do go to LIVE SHOWS often, which is great, but I also know there are a lot of members who don't, or haven't in a long time, or never have.
This post, by the way, is regardless of the band, genre, or style of music doing the LIVE SHOWS. I'm just talking about LIVE MUSIC in general. I'd like to know what the last show everyone went to was, and when it was, and if you haven't been to one, I'd like to hear about it, and I'd like to know why not. I think this would be interesting stuff to talk about. What do you think?
Yea, Cody that does sound interesting...I'll start it up.
Okay, the last show I went to was, ironic as it may be, Phlux at the Harrington Fitness Centre on Friday (4-11). Yea. It was a good time, the Poop Chickens opened. First time I'd eve heard of them and I was impressed. (Major kudos to them).
Phlux was killer that night and I was really glad to get the many hugs and conversations with you guys before and after the show. I brought my friend Britney along, who had never been to a live show (I don't think anyway) and never heard Phlux. She liked you guys a lot.
